About Us
Mr Colin McCubbin BDS (Edin) MFGDP (UK) |
|
|
Colin has been practising at 100 Cathedral Road since 1984, carrying on from Mr Eric Joseph who established the practice in 1960. The practice has enjoyed a reputation of quality and thoroughness down through the years, and Mr McCubbin is dedicated to continuing this through this exiting period of development. In 1996, Mr McCubbin took over the practice of Mr Chris Saunders, now occupying three surgeries. Recent refurbishment of the surgeries allows a level of hygiene necessary for modern techniques, yet retaining an ambience which only these buildings can provide. |
As well as running a busy practice, Mr McCubbin also delivers lectures at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, on a wide range of current techniques. He also runs courses with guest lecturers for the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, and is Chairman of Cardiff Restorative Study Group. He is treasurer of the Welsh Periodontal Society, and holds an hon. Lecturer post with the University Hospital of Wales Dental School. He holds membership of the British Endodontic Society, Association of Denatal Implantology, British Society for Restorative Dentistryand British Periodontal Society.

Robert joined us in 2002 to take our practice development to a new level. Whilst continuing general dental care, Rob's Oral and Maxillofacial experience in hospital posts, as well as his extensive postgraduate qualifications allow us to promote advanced techniques such as implants with every confidence in its success. Referrals from other practitioners underline this feature of the practice, and Rob is keen to expand this capability. As well as working in the practice, Rob is clinical Lecturer in Dental Implantology at the University of Wales College of Medicine. |

Wendy is our full-time hygienist. With the practice for 12 years, Wendy has been very active in expanding the hygienists role to improve our ability to achieve and maintain excellent gum health. In fact, practice records over recent years show a measurable improvement in this aspect, largely due to Wendy's work. Wendy has developed her skills over the years to become an invaluable and effective clinician, expanding her role to take in the treatment of advanced periodontal disease using local anaesthesia. |
|
When off-duty, Wendy is an accomplished long-distance athlete, having recently represented Wales in International competition. |

Lianne joined the practice six years ago directly from qualifying in Cardiff Dental School. She rose to the position of senior dental nurse after only 3 years, attaining certification in Dental Radiography in that time. In 2002, she became the first Practice Manager at 100 Cathedral Road, implementing and coordinating the many changes that led to the attainment of the Investors in People Award in 2003. (We think she should allow us to put her name forward for the National Practice Manager of the Year Award, but she is too modest!) Among her many other responsibilities, she is the Implant Coordinator and Health & Safety Officer. |
Lianne lives in Senghennydd, her interests include gym and keep-fit. Lianne is currently studying for a Degree in Management.
